Independent For Nepean
Hi, I'm Kim Robbins
Independent for Nepean. Because the Peninsula isn’t a safe seat, it’s our home.
Being disagreed with is one thing. Being told no is another. But being ignored is worse. And Nepean has been ignored, again and again.
You can see it at Rosebud Hospital. The emergency department is open around the clock, but radiology isn’t. Patients who arrive overnight don’t have access to the same imaging services which are available during the day. Our community is fundraising to replace a CT scanner the state should be funding.
You can see it on Peninsula Link. The freeway opened in 2013, yet 14km of it is being rebuilt from the ground up. The operator has offered only a broad explanation and hasn’t released the reports that would show why such extensive work is needed so soon. Another city-bound closure is expected in December, just as our local businesses enter their crucial summer trading period.
And you can see it in the way we’re funded. We’re classified as metropolitan, despite being a spread-out, ageing, tourism-driven community with regional needs. A 2026 report found that Geelong–Queenscliffe received more than twice the state capital investment of Frankston–Mornington Peninsula across the past three budgets.
These aren’t isolated problems. They’re what happens when major parties take a community for granted.
I’ve spent my career asking difficult questions, advocating for people and holding decision-makers accountable. As Nepean’s MP, I’ll use every accountability tool available, publish the answers in plain English and keep pushing until promises become delivery.
That’s why I’m putting my hand up. Nepean deserves a representative who listens properly, answers to the community and makes sure we can no longer be ignored.
I’d love to have you with me.
